There is a book by Ken Hultgren called "The Art of Animal Drawing". Former Disney golden age animator with some great concepts for drawing all kinds of animals. Not painting instruction, but may still be useful.

Rosa Bonheur, 19 th c French, great at horses - The Horse Fair was famous at the time, also fascinating life - had to get local magistrate to permit her to wear "men's" clothes. (Already mentioned.)Also our own Melissa Miller (Already mentioned.) for the juiciest oil paint: more congested and dramatic earlier, but recently her work has animals more separately placed on the canvas cf pre-Renaissance composition. Of course the student could always look at Edward Hicks, important in American art history. Also the blue horse paintings of Franz Marc which meant a great deal to him and to many who saw them.
I'm looking for house painter. I just want to paint a couple of the rooms in my house. Can anyone recommend a good painter?
