My vet recommended trupanion. But now at age 6 they want $60/month with no health problems for my dog. I would suggest putting aside $50/month into a tfsa. If you need it, it's there. As well you don't have to pay income tax on whatever you have in there. I have noticed that the vets in the gta are much more affordable so you might want to look into that. This Etobicoke vet has the prices listed right on the website. http://renforthvet.com/The+Clinic/Pricing

I like Collingwood vet on Pine street. ..they are amazing people. The Dr is incredible. Prices are compatible They will work with you money wise...as the animals are far more important to them then money. I was with belbrae for years and years and when my pet was sick and I was struggling, all they cared about was getting paid first before helping my baby .... Not the case with collingwood vet...they are awesome.
