Looking for good local coffee shops? As the title says I'm just looking for a good local coffee shop!
Also random question. Could someone please tell me what the "bad...

In order, from best to least great (they're all really good, though): 1. Loyal coffee- opened by the best baristas in COS, as a passion project. Truly outstanding and exceptional. Roast their own. Great, great kitchen, and some of the best cocktails in COS. This place is head and shoulders above anywhere else in the city. 2. Switchback- 2nd best all around. A lot of the folks who work at loyal used to work here. Quality is right there too. Roast their own. Kitchen is good. No liqour licence because of the Elementary School across the street. A little quieter than the other joints. 3. Building 3- 3rd by a hair. Also roast their own. Kitchen is a little lackluster, but decent pastries. 4. Peak Place- up on the North end. Really good, and have a great beer selection. Marked down mainly on location. Associated with Hold Fast Coffee, owned by the original roaster for Switchback. 5. The principal's office- good coffee, better cocktails, pricy and hipstery, even by craft coffee standards. Also crowded pretty much always. Also, the folks that made it good all work at loyal now. 6. Wild Goose- decent Coffee, great space in a great spot- but their food all comes from Sodexo at inflated prices. Good beer, great people, but not at the level of the rest of the list. Others: The Perk, Jives, coffee exchange, etc: Starbucks but local.

SE side of town, broadly defined as south of Platte, east of Fountain. Some bad spots farther west. The farther SE you go, the worse it gets.

Jives is a great coffee shop with two locations.
CatLions replied:
the bad parts are downtown, and its not really 'bad' just a buncha minorities.

Check out Building Three. It's on Cascade in the old Lincoln Elementary. Friendly staff, wifi and great coffee. As for bad parts of town, to avoid as in living near or just casually going through?

Jives, is alright but not terrible. Urban Steam if you are looking for some fun coffee, food and other stuff like whiskey and waffles. Also the bad parts of town... off of Navada south of 25 for about 2 miles is not a good part of town. the 25 Bridge that goes over Navada has a lot of stabbings and a lot of homeless in that park next to the highway. Here is a nice little map for you that I used when I moved here http://i.imgur.com/6 s6UoYw.jpg

Wild Goose was my go-to when I was in the Springs, but it was also right around the corner from my house.

[in no particular order, here is a mostly comprehensive list I put together](https://www.reddit.com/r/ColoradoSprings/comments/57 xhlj/visiting_for_the_week_looking_for_suggestions/d8 vqd8 e/) I will agree with many others, the top 3 are definitely Loyal and Building 3 (for quality coffee) and Switchback (for atmosphere and food).

On the contrary of what has been said of Nevada, it's really not that bad the further north you get. There's a little coffee shop that just opened up a few months ago called Inertia Coffee, and they're absolutely phenomenal. Small shop, but they serve some of the freshest and highest quality coffee I've had in quite some time. Their physical address is 4650 N. Nevada ave C. And here's their website: https://www.inertiacoffee.com
