[Dennis Jordan](https://www.facebook.com/dennisjordanandassociates/) was excellent to work work. We were first time home buyers this past summer, and he made the whole process incredible easy. Seriously, he made buying a house easier than buying my last car

Stay away from Susan Horak with ReMax.

Love KJ Goehl, he sold us our current house, helped us sell our house before. Knows his stuff.

We used Rosalind Hakimi. She was super knowledgeable and kind. She’s been in Columbia and in realty for years and was able to provide tips, mention past experience with contractors/quality of inspectors she’d worked with and give recommendations for people/companies to seek out for any work we mentioned we’d want to do on our house once it was bought. We’d use her again in a heartbeat. I have nothing but positive things to say.

We loved working with Kim Bosley at house of brokers. She has years of experience, is a full time, dedicated agent and fought for us. We bought our first house and it wasn’t a big sale for her, but she made us feel like we were her number one clients

I worked with Julie Anne Mattson at house of brokers. She was personable and wonderful to work with!

You might consider using a buyer's agent. We used one when we bought our first home. When it was time to sell, our buyer's agent had retired. We had a much better experience with the buyer's agent than our realtor. Buyer's agents are legally obligated to act in YOUR best interest. Look them up. Our realtor, who I will not name, was a snake after she got us to sign our contract with her. I'll never use a realtor again. The only good thing she did was recommend an excellent home inspector. Good luck.

Joel Gast, House of Brokers. Super great guy. He sold us our first home 5 years ago and will help us sell it soon. Highly recommend.

Following this thread as I am also entering the first-time homebuyer arena.

Try to remember that you are buying a house and not selling. I. E. Do you want someone to sell you a house or help you pick a good one. Most realtors just want to sell a house and make the commission. (They will all say otherwise though) Get a realtor that understands the market and value. A realtor that understands real repair cost and future cost. Basically a smart investor who happens to be a realtor. Know your price range and get a realtor that often sells and buys in that range.

Megan Walters is a great agent in COMO. She has a bunch of solid reviews on Google, Zillow, Realtor and more. Plus she was just added to the [20-Under-40](https://comomag.com/2020/12/29/megan-walters/) list by COMO Mag, and has won awards from the local Board of Realtors.

Echoing the person who advised against Susan Horak. Search her name in this sub and you’ll see plenty of feedback. Our experience with her was so awful that now that we’re looking again, we’ve refused to view homes that seemed nearly perfect online because she’s the agent.

I'd generally recommend against house of brokers. They were fine and got the job done but that's it. I'd compare it to the Denny's visit where you'd be justified in not leaving a tip but you don't really feel like the hassle tonight so you tip, move on, and vow not to come back.

Ryan Lindholm is really good. We purchased our house with him moving from out of state. He pointed out issues in houses he would have made a much higher commission on, did a ton of remote viewings, and was just generally awesome to work with. Scott Heck was so great. We were first-time buyers and he brought our attention to things we’d never think to look for, and was so thorough. He knows the ins and outs of Columbia and had great insight all around the board.

I had great luck with John Sorensen, we reached out to him on recommendation of another friend. We bought a house being sold by the owner and he worked with us through that process, not only that, but when we contacted him he was on vacation and still worked very hard for us remotely to make everything happen. After some relatives had issues selling their house we recommended him and he was able to move it very quickly, and close on a new house for them that met their requirements. I don’t have a ton of Realtor experience, but I can say that John worked very hard for us despite being a very small client in an abnormal situation.

I used House of Brokers Realty, Inc. to buy my current home, they were great. Followed all the covid rules and did virtual walkthroughs when I wasn’t able to make it to certain houses.
