As you may know MDJN membership ..Gives you Public liability Insurance and Employers liability Insurance as a member benefit. It does not include equipment insurance to cover theft or damage BUT there is good news as a paid member of MDJN you can get quoted a discounted Equipment cover.. These are done on a case by case basis based on your equipment your personal details etc ..to get a proper tailored quote, hence why we don't have a price list but from the information we got from Hencilla it offered better cover at a much lower cost on a like for like basis than the equivalent from DJguard. You need your MDJN membership number and a list of equipment and to contact Mark Hopkinson at Hencilla Canworth Ltd, Simpson House, 6 Cherry Orchard Road, Croydon, CR9 6AZ. Telephone: 020 8686 5050. Fax: 020 8686 5559.
Can you help?

Designed by Brandon Block (allegedly) so by a Dj for Djs. I've got one and it really is a great bag, lots of little pockets & enough space for at least 2 laptops: http://www.ebay.co.uk/.../Green-Holds-30.../301495968583...

I don't think the pictures do it justice, it actually has a massive capacity. I think I will have to either take pictures or a video of my own: http://www.alfelectronics.co.uk/bloxbox-dj-rucksack-2310...
Has anyone on here had experience with DJ Guard?.For example had to claim and were they ok to deal with?.TIA
Jason C. replied:
I think Glenn Nash has equipment cover with them. If you're thinking of signing up, contact Hencilla for an alternative quote. I have seen figures showing MDJN membership with Hencilla providing equipment cover is more competitive AND better cover than DJ Guard.
Glenn N. replied:
I'm with DJ Guard until October, then I will be shopping around. Not made any claims to date though.
Jason C. replied:
I've heard good and bad things - people who didn't read the policy will always be vocal, just the same are the guys that modify their cars and try to claim on their car insurance. I know members here have claimed successfully. However, there are other options that are lower cost and better value. Hencilla are the broker for all the DJ organisations PLI, and will provide a discount on separate equipment cover. MDJN/SEDA/NADJ and even AmpDJ all use Hencilla for their PLI policy, and so if you are a member of any of these, you should contact them for a quote. http://www.hencilla.co.uk/ Even for a very small rig, the savings are worth it. We found that combined MDJN (£29.99) and separate equipment insurance was still cheaper than DJ Guard.

You may want to post the name of the venue in other DJ FB groups to see if any other DJs have encountered this situation.
