See Steve at Cassidy Tire on Rte 14. They are right around the corner from the emissions place. We had the same problem a couple years ago and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a fix. They had the car for a day and a half and went back and forth between their shop and testing until they got it to pass. VERY reasonable. Love them ❤️

Advanced Auto and Truck Repair in Palatine, right by Durty Nellie's. Our friend Jeremy Garnett is a mechanic there. We've been screwed over a few times until we started going there. Pretty sure you can get a free estimate. And they will work with you on price. Good luck!
