I would check out Hairborn Fashions in Villa Park. I'm not a beard wielder, but during my time in their chair I've seen some fancy facial haired guys have their beards trimmed. They're all really nice and have a really fun space, too

Before shaving it off I got my beard trimmed at O'Gradys and Joe's in downtown CL. I didn't have a specific person as I didn't know the barbers there but they did pretty well the times I stopped in.
