If you haven't scheduled an appointment yet, I highly recommend Tippit Dental. They have a Memorial location (my family were patients there for 5 years) along with a Bellville location. They just opened one in Cypress about a month ago. My family wen t to the new location and had a wonderful experience. All the staff was wonderful, Dr. Moseley was professional and kind, and we were seen at or before our scheduled appointment time (we had this same experience the last 5 years as well). Dr Sean Bui, 8420 Hwy6 N, 77095. Just south of West Rd. 281-855-4888. Very gentle, easy to get appt, staff is excellent. Relatively inexpensive also. I HIGHLY recommend him. I had about $3000 (anywhere else) worth of work done and with insurance, it was only $400 out of pocket. With no insurance, he's still extremely reasonable and even offers payment plans!

My personal dentist isn't cheap but he isn't terribly expensive, either. (Shawn Rodgers @ Uptown Park Dental) He is great and I pay out of pocket as well. I think cleaning set me back $95 and x-rays were another $150. I always ask if I can delay the x-rays or spread them out across two or three cleanings to reduce the cost, and they have either accommodated me or allowed me to make the interest free payments (within 6 months) to cover any unforeseen expenses. Most independent dentists (i.e. those with their own practices) are willing to work with you on expense. In fact, because dental insurance is notoriously terrible, a lot of dentists will discount their services because you pay immediately vs. them having to file a claim with an insurance company and get paid 2 months later.
