Where's a good dentist in or around Milton? Preferably one that bills your insurance first (doesn't make you pay out of pocket up front)
Ed C. replied:
I've gone to Mercer Sydell on Union St in Milton. Unfortunately, I've found that as is the case with many dentists, they prefer you to pay up-front. Their reimbursement sucks so badly with the insurance companies and is really slow, so they put the burden on you. Eventually you get a check in the mail from the insurance company (and it's typically a pretty pathetic reimbursement rate).
Linda S. replied:
I recently found this out looking for a Dentist. Diamond State in Milford takes government retirement insurances along with many other insurances. Mercer and Sydell do not and their insurance options are limited. With MS you have to pay in full and seek reimbursement yourself.
Sarah R. replied:
Dr. Steward, Milford.

No! Peninsula Dental in Millsboro is HORRIBLE!!!! I had a small filling fall out in ONE of my front teeth, & somehow got convinced that I needed all FOUR of my front teeth crowned! They also convinced me that I needed GENERAL ANESTHESIA cuz I was a little bit nervous. End result...4 front teeth grinder down 2 nubs w/ fake caps on, caps are too big, jammed in & crooked. They refused to fix them unless I paid them MORE $$. I now have a $10,000 bill I'm still paying off & now have a lifetime of dental problems & can't bite anything, not even a sandwich. & if you're the least bit nervous, they are RUDE RUDE RUDE. Beware!
MJ O. replied:
We love Dr. Barnhart at The Dental Group, actually all of the staff there, but we don't have insurance, so I can't speak to how they handle it. I'm sure if you called they would be happy to explain. I went to Mercer and Sydell once and I felt the hygienist was kind of rough, so went back to Dr. Barnhart. They were also a little more expensive than The Dental Group.
Aurelio G. replied:
Mercer and Sydel on Union across from the cemetery. Fantastic! Top of the line installation and excellent professionals. Other doctors told me about urgently needed work. At Sydell, it was explained to me why it was not necessary, saving me tons of money.

Good to know, Aurelio Grisanty. I thought the dentist was very good there, actually.

My son went to Mercer Sydell and didnt have to pay up front. Wonderful dentist
Jeannette M. replied:
Peninsula Dental in Millsboro and American Dental in Dover are good dentists. AD does charge up front for what my insurance won't cover.
