Can anyone recommend a Ford dealership that isn't run by vultures? The best example I can give of a dealership I don't like is Town East Ford. You can't even breathe in...

5 star Ford in Carrollton is great, service techs are very knowledgeable and helpful.
durbblurb replied:
Here's another **not** to try: Rockwall Ford. They'll take your keys and say they are "inspecting your car for trade in" (and never return them) and they'll try to give you a car don't want (I.e. came in to look at a specific car but they showed you a different one). Also no: Westway Ford. Sleezy. Edit: sentences.

dfwmustangs has been sponsored by Grapevine Ford for a while. Although the really great guys have left, it might be worth trying them: http://www.dfwmustangs.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=4 be5 e40 fd5 a9 aca253359 f500 dd8 bfbe&f=36

North Central Ford 1819 N Central Expy, Richardson, TX 75080 http://goo.gl/maps/1QUlp I had a good experience here when I was shopping even though I bought a GMC from a different dealership. Always read the reviews though.

Autonation Ford Frisco sold me my Focus ST. They weren't very pushy and they responded well to having their prices talked down. I'd recommend them if you're nearby.
tubular74 replied:
Bill Utter Ford in Denton. They are very honest, and don't try to upsell you. I was on the fence between a Fusion and Focus, and instead of taking advantage of me to upsell to a more expensive car, they helped me consider the pros and cons, leading me to the Focus (which was best for my situation at the time even though I could afford the Fusion). My wife also buys from them and loves the service they give us. There's no bullshitting on price (although they're not Carmax, so of course there is room to negotiate) and if they can't make you a deal on what you want, they will be honest and help you out. They're always making deals with other dealerships, so if you want something they don't have, they can find it. Also- the don't tack on a bunch of extras and then charge you for them. A lot of dealerships will install aftermarket crap you don't want/need and then pass the price on to you. They sell you the car as it came from the factory, and then they'll offer anything you might want to add on, but they won't bullshit you with add ons. (Think how Best Buy always only has one laptop left in stock, and it's the Geek Squad one that is $100 more, and if you want it you have to pay for it because it's already been done- a lot of dealerships do that with tinting and other add ons)

Little bit of a drive but Randal Noe in Terrell was great. Bought a new F150 from them four months ago for a great price and they gave me a damn good deal on my trade in.

I went to AutoNation Ford Frisco 100% ready to buy a car with the money in hand, knew exactly which one I wanted. I stood at the front desk for 5 minutes, the receptionist paged for a salesmen three times, and they all just walked by me and kept going and no one would help. Finally the receptionist called a used car dealer because no one would help me, he greeted me and I basically said, I want this car right here, lets go start the paper work. Which really shows that if you are 25 and just wear jeans and a t-shirt to a car dealership, no one seems to want to help you.
klousGT replied:
Stay away from Sam Pack Ford. I don't have any experience with their sales team but their service department is shady as hell. I took my car to them for a squeaky rear lower control arm, I told them what the problem was and wanted a quote on fixing it. They charged me diagnostic time, quoted me replacing all four lower control arms at $3700, when it should be more like ~1200 for all four, tops.

I'm no expert when it comes to buying cars, but these are the things that I've always been told that will make the process much easier for you, the buyer. I'd be interested to hear the opinion of some car salesman on these: 1) Get an Internet price quote from the dealership before ever setting foot on the lot. 2) Get preapproved for financing before setting foot on the lot. 3) Agree on a purchase price on the vehicle before even beginning to discuss your trade-in. Treat them as almost two separate transactions. Edit: Also, check out this [car salesman AMA](http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/wwidf/i_am_an_ex_new_car_salesman_from_the_80 s_early/). It has some pretty useful advice.

How about not using a particular dealership at all? * Figure out what car/truck you want, test drive it. * At that point, contact several dealerships by phone. * Ask them for their best price on the car you want, no strings attached. * Tell them they are competing with the other dealerships in the area and you will give them 2 chances: their initial price and then to match or beat the lowest. Once you have that then you can negotiate on the lease return. (If you want, you could mention it at the top and see what their best price is including the lease return). Long story short: make them compete for you so you don't have to negotiate and haggle. EDIT: grammar is hard

Ron Schwartz is owner with Cowboy Toyota. One of the most honest men I know. I'd buy anything from him, any day. I work with him through his volunteer efforts and he is a genuine friend to me. If you end up at his place and tell him you love me and he will either shoo you away or give you a hug. No matter what, he'll be good to you.
