Advice/help needed! This is our 3rd winter in our home and each year with our first fire we get a rain of wasps coming down out of our fireplace. Yes, it's a terrifying...

We have the same issue. We use Mid Cities Pest Control(817) 354-5350. At the first sign of wasps, We use a large piece of cardboard and tape it around the fireplace until the pest guys come. They have told us there is not a prevention. The amount of wasps that fall down after they spray is a little disconcerting. Easily a hundred. After they spray we leave the cardboard on for a week or so and then tentatively take it down. We sometimes have a few stragglers fly in but they are pretty weak. Ick!

Does anyone have any recommendations for a fireplace/chimney person? We've never had ours checked out and I want to light some cozy fires this winter.

I've used James Shandsjames@chimneymasterdallas.com to clean my fireplace a few years back but I keep getting nests every year so now he's coming back and installing a chimney cap and cleaning in the next week or so... i shopped around and he's by far the best price... i called someone else who had a better price but then was told my chimney is taller so the price is different.... so came back to Chimney masters

American Services, 972-3031561, services/cleans chimneys, installs chimney caps and screens, also does pest control (we use them for spray and bait boxes) and they do "live animal inruder" removal, which is fun to watch. Either Russel or Andy will be your service technician.
Can anybody recommend a reputable chimney sweep/fireplace repair service in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?
