hi everyone, I'm a new one around here and I have a question, because I m new in this diet and I've been reading recommendations and posts...and everyone says "Freelee...

Thebananagirl.com is freelee
Jon F. replied:
Hi Sara. Freelee, like most of us long-term RT4 ers, has spent years researching nutrition and applying it in her life. She used to be a personal trainer and is quite well educated overall. Get to know her a bit and that becomes clear as day. Her videos and blogs also demonstrate her knowledge quite well. Best thing I can do, perhaps, will be to link you to many of the same sources that she (and we) rely upon for our nutritional studies. Here's where you can make a good start in your own research. http://www.pcrm.org/ http://nutritionfacts.org/ http://nutritionstudies.org/ http://www.thechinastudy.com/ http://www.heartattackproof.com/ http://www.nealbarnard.org/ http://www.drmcdougall.com/ http://www.drfuhrman.com/ http://www.forksoverknives.com/
Jon F. replied:
Exactly right Teagan. Much of our (and her) experience also comes from running 30 banananasaday.com or many years, and from private coaching. We've literally been faced with every nutritional question under the sun at one point or another, which has been wonderful for all our continued education. Sincere research, life experience and experimentation, tonnes of coaching, experience with tens of thousands of members in groups like this... all this has helped Freelee and others among us to develop a quite solid foundation in nutrition/lifestyle.
Jon F. replied:
Here's a great quote from a recent interview with Dr. Esselstyn (world's leading expert on heart disease, and reversing it on a plant-based diet): "Most doctors have no knowledge in that arena [nutrition], so they've either got to school themselves to obtain this knowledge, or they've got to relinquish the patient and send them to someone else who does have the skillset to help these patients." As many of us have learned, we must all take our health into our own hands, do our own research, look to those who are getting the results we desire. We ask no one here to take our word on blind faith, but we do ask that members seriously consider what we advise, follow up our advise with good research, and test things out in their own lives.
Morgan Barnes, He generally charges $40 per person for 3-5 people. That includes everything you will need except for the basic food items, which he generally will discuss with you prior and split a list up between participants. But since he will be working one on one with you, every class is completely customizable. Check out his website at http://chefpoupart.com/cooking-classes/
Paige P. replied:
Hi Summer! My husband Chef Laurent Poupart is a private French chef and teaches cooking classes on the side. He has been trained in healthy diet / nutritional based cuisine as well. If you can get a small group together (2-5 people) we can schedule a time. He usually charges a small fee per person, you get to pick out the dishes you want to work on and he will give you a small list of items to bring. Let me know if you are interested!
Random question, but does anyone know of a holistic internal medicine doctor or nutritionist in the Dallas area that is good in dealing with gastrointestinal issues?
Jaclyn P. replied:

Calley A. replied:
Hi Kristina, I am a Naturopathic Doctor located in Las Colinas. The best way to think about NDs is a family practice doctor, herbalist, homeopath, and nutritionist in one. We go through medical school and have to pass national board exams like any other doctor but our approach is holistic care, especially concerning anything related to the gastrointestinal tract. www.TexasNDs.com

North Dallas Alternative office - Dr. Brown. He is off 635

You can also try Life Works in Snider Plaza. They have a group of therapists, dieticians, holistic docs, acupunturists, etc.
Christine S. replied:
Hank Ferrell in Carrolton just fixes all issues. I've been to Margaret Christensen since the 80's but she closes her practice so often I gave up on her being a reliable option. She's a gyno and pretty much tells most about adrenal fatigue and suggests progesterone cream most.

Tony TD is a great trainer. He might also be able to help with the nutrition portion also.....Bridget Broadnax is a nutritionist...I think she's still in Dallas. Leah K. Egwuatu is also an amazing trainer/nutritionist out of Houston, but she has a ton of resources online. Best wishes!:)
