Teagan, this may help you, Have a look at www.morrisminorownersclub.co.uk. you should find the colour codes on the site, and if you look on the plate in the engine bay this should tell you the original colour.

Thank Andie, I've had a look at the plate and I'm not sure what to look at in the earlier models. I know that it's a number sequence after 52 but mine is before that and just says SYN for Synthetic paint. Am I just being silly and looking in the wrong place? It's pretty cute and I was very lucky to find him after looking for the last few years for the perfect one. It has an original side valve engine and everything. Only problem is someone has put a 12 volt battery in it and I think it may have fried the electrics. Is it a hard job and is it worth converting to 12 volt? Should I keep the side valve in it or swap to an overhead?
