I have reached 15K on my X. I know it needs an oil change. Should I have to do any other service on it? What do you guys recommend? Spark plugs? Coolant?

Assume "hot" is a typo and should be how. Always adjust at room temp. (below 95°) This page is your friend and make a little contribution to Mike's sight http://tech.bareasschoppers.com/
VTXOA Forum on the actual website has abundant information. Many XRider chapters around the country have lots of guys with years of experience and over 100 k miles on their X's. Our Michigan Chapter used to have a spring 'Tech Session' in May every year. Lots of tire kicking and some people brought projects to the session so they had lots of helpers.
So, instead of having the local dealer do an oil change I'm going to do it myself. Any suggestions on oil and filter. The bike is a 2004 VTX 1300S 26,000 miles

I've been using these filters since I can remember. I also use the Mobile 1 V Twin full synthetic. I often catch it on sale for 8 bucks/qt. I've ridden it over 80K miles in the last 3 1/2 years. What's cool, is I can shop online, and they will have everything ready for pickup when I arrive at the store. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Oil-Filter/_/N-8 gcsg?filterByKeyWord=3323&fromString=search&isSearchByPartNumber=true

Dan Smith - two drain plugs? I have only changed mine about 3 times( not the filter) it was too hard to get to. Now I have the cap to help get it off so I will do that soon. I have had the shop change all before. I only drained from one plug never thought to look for second.:/
66,500 miles on my 2007 JK and just did some maintenances let me know if I missed anything.
