We were with State Farm for years but they kept slowly raising our rate despite have no violations or claims. When it got to be $250 for 2 paid-off vehicles, we switched to Geico. We pay half of that now which is more reasonable.

we went through the same thing... all quotes were much higher than what we paid in NC where we had State Farm since 1998. We stayed with them. Umbrella policy is 225% higher than it was in NC, so is health insurance and prescription drug coverage. Neither of us had any claims or violations ever... on the positive side, no income tax in FL!

I shopped hard. WKL Roofing was the second lowest bid, but I got a more professional "vibe" from them and they WERE indeed. Quick, thorough and reasonable. Their office is near my house and they have something like 23 trucks and crews out working at any given time.
