Dirk at Aliens Tattoo (now Fort Worth Tattoo Shop) on 199 is a fantastic photorealist artist, he has some really great drawings on his walls. Me and my wife both got tattoos from him. He is also really into water color tattoo art. He gave fair prices and even cut us a deal since we were there for 10 hours getting work done on 4 different people.

Carl Hallowell at Elm Street Tattoos is amazing. If he can't do it, he will know the best person who can.

PM me with what you get though. I’m looking forward to seeing it.

TNT just opened and they have two of the best photo realism artists in the metroplex dare I say in the nation. I tattoo in another big city in Texas and if I wanted photo realism I would drive up to Krystal or Danny Check out their work and you’ll see what I mean

Check out some of the artist portfolios at [Sleepy Hollow Tattoos](https://www.sleepyhollowtattoos.com/artists) it is a fantastic shop and I know a couple of the artists do realism. Although I think David Vega in Austin does some of the best photo realistic (edit: portraits) I've ever seen.

Oliver Peck at Elm St. Tattoo is one of the best in town for sure. You can see lots of his work online. Catch him quick, he's doing another season of Inkmasters in NY soon.

[Allan Kurt](http://aktattoos.com/)@357 Ink (75 & 380 in McKinney, not too far from Denton). He's done about 12 hours or so of ink on me so far. Excellent work. I might be slightly biased as he's my best friend, but check out his work and see for yourself. Muhfucka is talented and a cool dude.

I get mine done from Danny at The Chosen One Ink off of 360 and Mayfield. All of the guys there are great too. They usually have deals on their [facebook](http://www.facebook.com/THECHOSENONEINKTATTOO)

Josh at Saints and Sinners near Addison. I have four tattoos by him, mostly very geometric designs. Clean lines great filling. He also did a giant peacock feather on my girlfriend's side. I can provide pics if you want. I highly recommend.

My brother is really good, Taylor, he is at Royal 1 Tattoos in Ft Worth, but he just left for a trip to San Diego and will be tattooing there for a few months.

I went to Tigger's in Deep Ellum for two tattoos and was really satisfied. I went to Love and Hate in Lewisville for a tattoo on my foot, and I don't know if it's because the skin is so thin, but the artist went too deep and now I have a problem with it itching/being raised. Other than the itching, the tattoo on my foot has really high quality coloring.

Jacob at Cat Tattoo in Addison did a very good job on mine, A little expensive, but worth it.

Ok, I know the answer to this. Thomas Hooper is the best tattoo artist I have ever come across and he just moved to Austin. I would fly around the world just to have him work on me. He primarily works with black and grey. http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/thomas-hooper

Talk to Michael Galvan. I hear he has a little experience with this.

I go to See Adam at Lake Cities Tattoo in Corinth. I've also been pretty impressed with portfolios at Skin Art Gallery in Addison and Cat Tattoo in Addison as well!

Pat Beck at Arsenal has the steadiest hand in town. Before he was a tattoo artist he was a drafting engineer pre-computer. He drew straight lines by hand for 15+ years before he ever touched a machine. Now he has 20 ish years tattooing under his belt. He did this on my leg with no stencil looking at a photo of me wearing a suit as reference. He even included the pinstripes on the suit. http://i.imgur.com/O76 ql.jpg The downside of Pat is that he has a huge client base so sometimes you have to book your appointment a few weeks in advance because he is almost always booked up. Dont bother walking into the shop call ahead first and schedule a consultation.

I've been scoping out myself and from looking online, the best script I've seen is from [Zombie Joe](https://instagram.com/zombietattoojoe/) at Dark Age on the Square. Let me know where you end up.
Honestly man check out The Ink Hand in Sanger, that's where I got mine done and he's amazing. Check them out on Facebook. Randy is the guy you want to talk to. I don't like any of the shops in Denton.b

I have personally had tattoos done at smiling ricks. No need to slander them with bullshit hearsay. Timmy Dykes is my tattoo artist. I have 6 pieces done by him. My work speaks for itself.
Hi Dallas,
I need a tattoo artist that is really great with florals and is willing to work with an already drawn up tattoo design. Start tagging people!
Can anyone recommend a good tattoo artist in Dallas?
Steve T. replied:
Get an idea of what you want in mind and look at portfolios to see if anyone matches your style. Search for "Dallas" (or other nearby cities) on reddit.com/r/tattoos to get some non-portfolio examples. Other things to look for in their work is line quality (straight solid lines, no blowouts) and smooth shading or coloring.
Steve T. replied:
I know of a couple in Austin (Annie at Resurrection) and Houston (Stephanie at Electric Chair) if you don't mind a drive.
