Check out https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/ (don't mind the 90 s interface), filter by location Europe->Ireland, and read all the journals of all the people who took a trip on a bike in Ireland. The website is a place where thousands of people from all over the world are blogging about their bike tours.
Any suggestions for relatively cheap family accommodation in central(ish) London, couple of days, end o' May?
Sonya K. replied:
yeap International student house, known as ISH - they have all sorts of rooms and are on Grt Portland Street. They are for students but they will take anyone if they have spaces. http://www.ish.org.uk/ There is a hostel in Holborn - the Generator might be a bit roudy. http://generatorhostels.com/en/destinations/london/?gclid=CNH3 qP7-_bwCFUcTwwodPUUAQA
Pascal M. replied:
Try https://m.airbnb.com/ - can be good for lots of people in appt/houses etc

Days Inn Waterloo; Ibis Blackfriars; Travelodge Waterloo - all via Trivago. All under 130 euro. Days Inn was actually just 76 euro, but it all depends on the dates you go.

Cologne is fabulous they've loads of different themed markets the Angel market is gorgeous & angels walk around giving out sweets to kids. The There's a road train that links all the markets. It's the first place I visited that had a hut for kids to sit & do some colouring. http://www.cologne.de/events/christmas-markets/cathedral-x-mas-market.html
Corrina S. replied:
Copenhagen is also fab for kids as the Tivoli gardens are a magical winter wonderland! Whatever market you choose try to go the first weekend they open usually the last weekened in November as they are less crowded. Check out christmasmarkets.com for dates
