Looking for a home inspector Can anyone make recommendations for a home inspection? Looking for someone very thorough. Just bought a new place in WDSM.

I would recommend NOT using Red Fox. He either completely missed or didn't report some obvious issues.

Do not use Amerispec. I used them twice. The first time was awesome, but the second the inspector was worthless. He opened a few windows, made general notes, and didn't even go up on the roof.

Clayton at [Mescher Home Inspections](http://www.mescherhomeinspections.com/) did one for us about a month ago. He seemed to be thorough determined to get into places that were not easy to access, like the attic that he had to remove a full wardrobe bar and shelf from a small closet and squeeze in. Of course we don't know for sure if he missed things because we haven't moved in yet. He did take a ton of pictures and noted a bunch of things (with photos) that I thought were super minor. Bonus, he was super nice guy and seemed very genuine. I believe it cost $400. My girlfriend has an uncle that works for Midwest Basement Systems and he also came out to look over the basement. He brought all sorts of fancy equipment and tools (lasers and shit!) and he didn't find anything down there the other guy missed, but I guess a confirmation of finding no problems doesn't mean all that much.

I used centraliahomeinspections.com. the guys name is david. He used to be a contractor who then moved into home inspections. I thought he did quite a thorough job. He was also willing to help answer questions that came up down the road when they arose. Sorry about the terrible formatting. On mobile
