Just a reminder to everyone that The Duluth Grill was one of the businesses who were actively trying to block mandatory sick pay for service workers in Duluth. So yeah fuck them.

I'm not a huge fan of Duluth grill, they have a few options but in my opinion it's over priced. Wasabi in Superior is one of my favorite spots, it's a sushi place that has $3-4 vegetable rolls. Pho Cali in Superior is really good too, I'd recommend their tofu spring rolls and tofu and broccoli. Pizza Luce in Duluth has a handful of vegan options. Heres a link to a list of different restaurants in the area http://vaagensvegansauce.com/2017/04/21/vegan-dining-in-the-twin-ports-a-crafty-guide/

After you have a meal you’ll need some ice cream! http://www.lovecreamery.com/ They are near OMC and bent paddle, but share a door with frost river. They have a vegan ice cream!

Pizza Luce, Chester Creek cafe, burrito union, tavern on the hill, paks green corner (superior). All these places have a few vegan options. I used to recommend Duluth grill but their vegan menu items are very limited now.

Bishop arts and deep ellum are the most I'd say that is " walking friendly" with restaurants and bars. Dallas is not really like NYC at all. And it's more driver focused rather than walker focused.

Uptown, Lower Greenville, Addison, or Knox/Henderson. Check out [raidsonline.com](https://raidsonline.com) for a good crime map. I will PM you a relocation guide.

Remember why you’re leaving NYC. Keep Texas red so we all don’t have to move away from our great state. Edit: Keep the downvotes coming! Reddit is all blue and no one is moving away from the red states. Only the blue. Coincidence? I think not.

Combo of quiet and safe would steer me away from most of Uptown, Deep Ellum, and downtown. You'll also need to look out for sirens near the medical district and airport traffic around Love Field. The Oak Lawn / Turtle Creek corridor sounds like your best fit, but it's pricey. Lower/lowest Greenville Ave is quieter than it used to be, but real estate is sky high and I can't speak for safety. The Northeast Dallas area south of the Village has some nice newer rentals that are affordable. You'll also find a lot of townhouses for rent around SMU from independent landlords, if you're willing to stretch your budget to be west of 75.

Been living in Old East Dallas. Love the older homes and historic areas. I can ride my bike to White Rock Lake or Deep Ellum for bars and restaurants. But from what you said I would check out Richardson for sure. The city has a mandate that a park has to be within walking distance from any neighborhood. So lots of parks and a very eclectic selection of restaurants makes it the cultural melting pot of the Dallas area.

Just be prepared to have mediocre pizza. I miss the pizza, bagels, and cheese steaks from home. But the queso & tacos are legit. If you like Texas style BBQ, there are quite a few in and around Dallas. I prefer Memphis style but they have an awesome soul food restaurant in South Dallas. I would recommend Addison. I live like 2 blocks from Addison. I love the restaurants there and it's quiet. I moved here 7 years ago, the Deep Ellum I knew changed so fast. I was just there yesterday and told my friend that it reminded me of a wannabe NYC chic.

Best food is in nyc which you will miss when you move. I suggest legacy west area of Plano. It’s walkable, has a city feel and beautiful. Plenty of restaurants and Plano has musical events. It’s about 20 to 30 minute drive to Dallas.
msondo replied:
Highland Park is one of our most safest neighborhoods and also very close to the nightlife of downtown.

Addison? If not, Pleasant Grove and/or South Dallas are ok last resort options.
Going to Duluth in a few weeks. Any suggestions on your favorite restaurants & fun places to take a 21 month?

Duluth Grill is my favorite, local, organic ingredients. They even have a garden in the parking lot. I love pie from Betty's Pies and Gooseberry Falls as well.

Michele Montagano Everson..I don't think so as the Indian Village isn't even at all familiar to me..think that was after my time..a post above mentions the Begonia Farm being turned into the Indian Village..When I was there it was still the Begonia Farm..I think it closed eventually but be left the beach before they did anything different with it.
