True should get an electrician on a competent person scheme like NICEIC or Napit...etc, to satisfy part p/building Regs/control, although technically you can still do the work yourself. If you notify building control, and follow any instructions/conditions they want you to follow. Otherwise an electrician on a scheme is required to do the work to replace the shower.
