Can someone recommend a good furniture store? We are in the market for a new sectional and dining table. So far we have checked the typical chain stores like Rooms to...

There are a ton of [stores](http://www.charlottemagazine.com/Home-Garden/October-2011/South-End-Furniture-Row/) in South End. I got my dining room table at The Furniture Connector.

I went to Ashley in Charlotte and picked out a great leather sectional. After measuring to make sure it would fit, I found the exact sectional online at furniturecart.com. It had no sales tax with free shipping plus the base price was like $700 lower. Saved me like $1000 to order it like this. I took it to Ashley before I ordered, too, and they would not price match it. What happens is, furniturecart orders it direct from Ashley at a retailer's discounted rate, and then ships it to me. As a middleman they make a little bit and pass the rest of the savings on to me. This process took about 5 weeks. That is the only downside, if you are in a hurry, you may have to go another route. But seriously, it came delivered on two palettes in perfect condition.
Just in case this sounds like I work for this website, I do not - I just had a great experience and saved a ton of money and figured I'd share my story. There are a lot of sites that do this online and can save you a ton once you've picked out what you want in a store.

also check out Hickory Furniture Mart and some of the other outlets up 321 in Hickory. It's best if you bring your own truck.

Thanks for all the updates. I will have to make a list and check them out this weekend.

Check out Cort on South Blvd, by the Home Depot. They basically furnish for things like office furniture and home stagings, but once they're done using it for that purpose they sell them to regular customers. I got a suede couch and two armchairs set for a total of $700.

Do you like mid-century stuff? I've bought a lot of stuff from here: http://www.midcenturysalvage.com/ The owners are awesome. And if you want to go totally custom they will rebuild any piece with any type of fabric/leather etc you want.

Check out Jay's Wholesale, http://jswholesalefurniture.com/. Go in person though as I have found the website isn't always current. If he doesn't have something you want he can get it for much less than any of the big stores. We bought a dining room table, four chairs, and bench for $400 less for the exact same table at Ashley. I use to tell people that I think this is where the rich people shop so they can remain rich.

If you don't mind driving up to Mooresville, check out [Merinos Home Furnishings](http://www.merinosfurniture.com) We have bought 2 sofas, and coffee tables, they have a huge warehouse with a huge selection and great prices.

Nothing to offer but to say every bit of seating type furnature I or friends/family that has been bought from Rooms To Go has fallen apart inside 2 years. Except the kitchen table. It has done well for the 15 years I have had it.

I know this isn't a local store, but you should go to the rooms to go outlet on 85. You could definitely find something in your budget there.

I would think twice about rooms to go, I think the quality there is poor, even at that price point. It may be too pricey but you can always try furniture land south. I have not been there in many years but last time I was there it was a few million square feet and is even bigger now. It's a drive and probably an all day affair but may be good for rainy weekend or something. http://www.furniturelandsouth.com/

There is some store on South Blvd that is really high end and eclectic. Can't remember the name but it's worth a visit even just to pass the time. If I could afford would definitely shop there.
Furniture store recommendations? Thrift stores, furniture stores, second hand stores, etc.

Jinxed is amazing and gets some really great used/vintage/antique furniture pieces in for stupid cheap. Following their Instagram (@jinxedstore) is best since they have a few locations. They always post the dims and price right in the post as well. If you love something, I'd suggest calling to pay for it and pick it up later since things go fast. Enjoy!

front and venango Erie and G/I st. I can't remember the names, but both are large, easy access, and cheap for new stuff.

I like Nadeau. Yeah, it's Manayunk - but not pretentious. It's all hard goods so no overstuffed couches. I think of them whenever I need something and usually stop in when I'm in the area even of I don't. Check them out on social media or their web-site to see when they're getting deliveries. They get what they get and you can't order anything. Anyone who shops there knows to follow when deliveries are coming. If you're picky, you want to get there around delivery days. I'm particular but not interested enough to follow a store's deliveries so I just go whenever and always find interesting stuff.

Take a day trip to the Crate & Barrel discount outlet in Cranbury, NJ. We got a fucking solid wood dining table and a dope couch with just a tiny tiny rip on the back for $1000 total. You can start a month to month for a year to pay off. If things don't sell they start dropping the price. It's like thrifting, so you gotta nab it while you're there. Then you have a week to pick it up. I don't think they deliver. It's fucking worth it. I was surprised how cheap in comparison everything was.

I have visited uhuru, jinx and Ikea however if you're looking for new furniture that nobody has go to FURNITURE MECCA. They have a couple stores in Philly. I like the one on hunting Park and the one on front and Venango. They have unique headboards and loveseat ls They are pretty urban but the prices are phenomenal. I saw Stern and foster mattress for less than 800 bucks! I have a pretty upscale home in graduate hospital and I save a ton of money by shopping at bargain retailers to decorate it. Don't judge a book by it's cover and check the stores out. By the way their rugs selection is pretty good too.
