I looked at getting a ring made through [Sparrowood Jewelers](http://www.sparrowood.com/diamond_jewelers/). Ended up not going custom, but I did still buy a ring from them. Great people to work with.

I bought my wife's ring at Bailey's. They were really nice, very knowledgeable, and always clean our rings for free when we drop by. And they have free cookies :-). I really like their business.

I was happy with the work of the jeweler in downtown Apex, if that is in your driving range. Sized up an antique plat wedding set for me.

Go see Jane at Reeds Jewelers in Crabtree Mall. Their jeweler, Tu, is amazing.

John David Jewelers in Durham is wonderful. They made my custom engagement ring and band and they came out beautifully. They are also very pleasant and genuine people.

Goldworks in Chapel Hill. Did seven different rings in my social circle (three for me) I'm aware of and they're all awesome. http://www.goldworks-nc.comhttp://www.goldworksnc.com

Was really impressed with [Booth Custom Jewelers](http://boothcustom.com/) in Raleigh Five Points. Did an excellent repair of a botched job by someone else (not in the Triangle) on a vintage piece, and a reshanking on a delicate vintage engagement ring. Their setup is amazing, and super-nice people. Not snooty at all like you might think for the neighborhood.
Recommendations for a trust worthy, high quality jeweler? I have a stone loose in my ring that needs to be fixed. Can anyone recommend a jeweler they trust?

This may seem a little odd to recommend a jeweler at a mall, but Fink's Jewelers in Southpoint Mall is second to none in my opinion. My wife and I have gone in there several times over the past few years and they (somehow) always remember our names and go above and beyond, including seldom charging for routine maintenance for her engagement ring.
The ring had originally been purchased at a Mom and Pop shop in another state, and we feel every bit as important when we walk into Fink's.
It bugs me I cannot remember the girl's name who I've dealt with a few times, but I believe she is a manager and is in her late 20's early 30's, but Reg (Like wedge, but with an 'R') has always been a huge help as well.

[Jewelsmith](http://jewelsmith.com/) in Durham. They did a wonderful job on my wife's engagement ring and our wedding rings.

I got my wife's engagement ring from an independent jeweler in Durham. He only does word of mouth marketing, but he did fantastic work for me at higher quality and lower price than any of the other places I went to here. Shoot me a PM if you are interested and I would be happy to give you his contact info.

I would avoid Bailey's in Cameron Village. I had a terrible experience recently in all aspects I could imagine. Although for a different service, the problem has taken over 4 months to resolve and management wasn't even contacted about the problem until 2.5 months in. I haven't gotten calls when they said they would call, nor have I been refunded the money I was promised two weeks ago.

If you're near Cary, try Johnson's in the old downtown area. They've been there forever.
