Salaamu Alaykum,
Guys I need some advice. My professor is treating me and a friend to dinner tomorrow night inShaAllah. She asked me to find a "fancy" restaurant. I do...

Nanking (decent sit-in) 2056 Hillside Ave. New Hyde Park, NY 11040 Tel: 516.352.0009
Sheikh A. replied:
Food is good both Chinese and Indian/Paki. I take my family there often, so i'll recommend. http://www.nankingrestaurantgroup.com/n_longisland.htm

bro ur best bet is Sagar Chinese resturant either the one on 87-47 Homelawn Street Jamaica, NY 11432 or 252-05 Union Tpke Bellerose, NY 11426
Asadullah G. replied:
There is nanking in Jackson heights (Hillside one is more fancy). Taipan in flushing is good too. Sagar Chinese on union turnpike isn't bad at all. Dervish (Mediterranean) in times square is fancy and good, but expensive.

What about catering to your home? There are several yummy places that do that. I am thinking Iavarone Brothers (www.ibfoods.com) or someplace like that.

John Peel Room. I worked there as a kid and me and my Dad would sit in with the band in the pub. It was inside the Island Inn. Not only was it a 4 star restaurant but all the famous stars stayed there when they played the Westbury Music Fair. They sold the property because it was worth more than the value of the hotel. I think there is a bookstore there now.
