Also, you could try "Angie's List". I'd call Handyman in Easthampton first. ToolBox Handyman Services, 7 Spring St, Easthampton 413-977-1925.

The one that called Alicia wants to charge $650 to out a 4 x4 post under the porch. We have a quote for a complete replacement for 1600 but can't get the guy to set a date. Now he's saying he will set the date on monday. Mark Bonde of Bonde Construction in Easthampton

Donna, I meant to say that "Toolbox Handyman" is the one I mentioned that installed our new storm door, but didn't return any of my 3 voicemails to him about helping us with repairs to the garage and porch. The garage was perfectly and expertly fixed by Stan the Fixit Man recommended by realtor, Deborah Cahillane. The garage looks better that ever and Stan the Fixit Man (who also is an expert dog trainer) was awesome and very reasonably priced, but he said he wasn't a contrackr so couldn't do the porch repairs because our house is over 100 years old and the porch has a roof that would need to be stabilized and that it's better to have a licensed and insured contractor who has the proper structural engineering knowledge and experience.
