Eau Claire family & friends: I'm looking for recommendations for physicians of all varieties. Dermatologist, allergist, dentist, eye doctor, OB/GYN... I'm going to check...
Pam W. replied:
Dr. Khatib was one of my doctors when I was pregnant with Nick! Dr. Pakpreo was the other one and he delivered Nick! Thanks, Danielle!
Cindy L. replied:
Dr. Rebecca England OB/GYN at Marshfield Clinic Eau Claire Center. I prefer a female GYN and she is really good!
Gail K. replied:
I also like Dr England.
Kim H. replied:
Love Dr. Donna Schoenfelder! Be careful of Marshfield Clinic. They seem to want to charge you extra for things. I go in for a complete physical and my blood work shows my cholesterol went up.....charged me an extra $100. Also I had two ultrasounds at Sacred Heart Hospital and one at Marshfield. Marshfield charged $400 more for the exact same thing.
Kimberly H. replied:
I love Dr Longbella!!! I've seen him for the past 20 yrs and he delivered 2 of my kids. Great bedside manner and truly spends time with you. You won't ever feel rushed or just a number with him.
Tabitha C. replied:
I go to Dr. Donna Schoenfelder, who is awesome!! I tried Khatib once & he weirded me out. But he's old fashioned, which would not work well for my current 'situation' anyway.
It's seem my shitzoo lasa has a tooth problem..just had her teeth cleaned and two pulled less than 6months ago...now her two back teeth upper are full of calcium...:(...

Our little Shih Tzu has the same issues except you are a better mom than I am because I keep putting off getting her dental work done.
Do any of my Eau Claire Facebook friends have a dentist to recommend (or adults?)
Kris P. replied:
My fave dentist was Dr. Jackie...crap, can't remember her name - she used to be over at Oakwood Hills, but I see she is no longer with Dr. Decker...wonder if she retired...??? If I find her, I will let you know - I loved her & she was so good with kids too! ;)

Trying to find a good dentist/hygenist that may cover someone with Medicare in the Eau Claire area. Any suggestions?
Megan A. replied:
Marshfield dental center in Chippewa.
Geralyn C. replied:
Is it Hillside Dental Angie? Dont see Hillstreet Dental in phonebook
Nicholas C. replied:
Does Midwest? Because I know Molly B. Carey is amazing at her job!
Cindy K. replied:
Midwest does't. Pederson dental in Mondovi does. We go to them and they are very nice. Once I called around E.C. and could not find anyone that would take it. Marshfield has strange rules for taking Mediicare.
Pam M. replied:
I think Dr. Tony Pilgrim in Fall Creek does---I took my Dad to him.
Angie B. replied:
I really Christine, hygienist & Dr. Johnson at Hillstreet dental, not sure if they take Medicare.
For those of you who remember Dr. Robert Lee, a local dentist (and my Father), here is a segment about him that was part of a documentary ("Portrait of a Profession")...
Jayne W. replied:
Correction El Rancho north of Ladysmith. Dr Bob and my Dad Bob loved the Flambeau River and deer hunting too.
Marcia B. replied:
Delightful to hear his voice, see the video and remember childhood times in his chair. He taught my sister and I the 'new technique' of dry brushing that we still use today along with our commitment to great dental care instilled by Dr. Lee! Thanks Doc! And thanks for sharing this John!
Barbara B. replied:
Great to see this...Dr. Lee took care of my parents, myself and my boys when we lived in EC..he was also a good friend of my brother's...they went hunting and fishing together. I remember when Dr. Lee opened his first office somewhere downtown upstairs...but not exactly where. Then he moved to Porter Avenue. I think his wife, Mary's maiden name was Guthrie??? They made a really attractive couple.
John L. replied:
Yes, Mary Guthrie is her maiden name. She is still living in Eau Claire.
Diane W. replied:
Oh, my...My Mother went to that beauty school back in the 40's..I remember the permanent "machine" Looked like something from outer space! Funny as she never went on to be a beautician. I did not remember Dr. Lee but I really liked the video. Thanks for sharing.

Laurie N. replied:
Thanks for sharing, John! I remember the Highlights and the Prize Drawer! Do you know anything about your dad's WWII history? I think we ended up coming to Dr. Lee because our dads knew each other in the Army.
Anyone know of a local EC dentist that takes adults that are currently on Badgercare? I'm having awful tooth pain, I think the cap I've had on my front tooth since 8th...
Hilary I. replied:
If you go in to Chippewa Marshfield Clinic office at 7:30, they see emergency patients in the early AM and it is covered by badgercare.
Shannon C. replied:
I don't know about EC but Blane Christman at Christman Dental LTD is amazing...not sure about badgercare...but seriously, they're the best/
