Cheap in the panhandle, last minute, during peak times is very tough to find. Trip advisor has rentals as well and you can contact owners directly. Southernresorts.com is good too but it’s a management site, fees are less than others.

You should concentrate on Ephraim or Sister Bay area if you want things to do. The family stayed at Open Hearth Lodge in SB, which was reasonably priced since it wasn't on the water. Andy Yuscka is knowledgable in All Things Door Cnty!
