I'm looking for a phenomenal horse trainer. I have a 3yo arab gelding with a LOT of fight-or-flight reaction and very little handling. I'm located in Montana, but can...

Jeremy Dunn has done so well by our family' of Arabians - and he now adores them. He is calm, kind, thoughtful, and instead of creating a show ring horse, the horses he rides and trains are suitable to follow cows, trail ride, cross water, think.... he does terrific work. He is near Mojave California.

Lance Valdespino in Rio Verde Arizona. He's trained Arabs for 30+ years and is one of the best trainers in the US. He's shown national and internationally. He's kind and gentle, none of the cowboy stuff. He turns out great show horses and confident, solid trail horses. You are welcome to contact me for more information. I know its a long way, but you will not be sorry for sending your horse to him. My husband and I have two of the best trail horses around and we can thank Lance for them. He's one of the best and truly knows what a horse needs to be happy and confident.

Jennifer - my trainer, Zak Nix is in Colorado, and while he is a "cowboy", he happens to be a fantastic trainer and I have since gotten him hooked on endurance and Arabians. I trusted a black mare to him to start and have been extremely thrilled with how she did with him! She was not even halter broke when I bought her last November, and I spent about a month doing ground work with her before she went to him for saddle training. Less than 4 months later she did the 15 mile fun ride at Kenlyn and was calm and well-behaved. http://www.elementsarabians.com/halle.html

Warwick Schiller is in CA . Just a thought. I love his work and his energy. He has a youtube channel you can check out.
Jeremy O. replied:
Jennifer Stevens, there is a trainer in Montana who is really really good. He was the trainer of our stallion before we got him and he is very patient and really understands horses. I will get his name for you!
Candice C. replied:
I used and recommend Lanny Leach. He did a great job with my Shagya Arabian. He is the trainer who trained the mustangs for the 3000 mile ride from Border to Border. That ride was filmed and the title of the film is Unbranded. Lanny is in Texas, but is worth the haul. Look him up at LannyLeach.com You can see him and his son on YouTube.
Kerrie J. replied:
Richard Winters is in Nevada now, I would trust him to start any horse the right way
Jeremy O. replied:
Richard Vrooman is the name of the trainer Jennifer Stevens. I've seen a few of the Shagya horses he has trained for Adele Furby. He does a good job, I highly recommend him. Plus he is in Montana.

Ty Heath here in Stevensville. He is the one Drin mentioned. Suzy Hayes and (the Iditerod guy)have taken several arabs to him with great success. Two of the arabs were deemed outlaws and turned away by other trainers. I have taken several horses to Ty over the years.

Jennifer--call Tammy Yost Wildin at Heart T Ranch performance horses in Boyd, MT. She trained a horse I previously owned--Aah Opus Flame (arabian) and he was wonderfully trained for Kara Taylor (for ranching and trail). Tammy is just down the road from you in Boyd, MT--I have met her personally and really like her way of training and she has nice facilities. Top notch.
