I had a beautiful vbac with Jenda Stauffer of Guiding Hands Midwifery on June 1 st. Absolutely love her. Wish I could have had her for my first!
Abigail S. replied:
Guiding hands-love Lydia! You end up having the same provider for prenatals/delivery not just who's on call. They have 'meet the midwives' on Thursdays. www.guidinghandsmidwife.com I'm driving an hour each way to see her. Worth every minute!
Nicolas P. replied:
I live in Fremont as well, and have debated the same issue. While I would love to follow Jenda to her new practice with any future babies (she delivered my last two and I would love to go through delivery with her again), the Women's hospital is really the closet to home. Unless Guiding Hands has privileges at Methodist (they did not the last time I checked, but it's been a while), it will be more than a 25-minute drive to the hospital when labor comes and you need to evaluate if that's something you're comfortable with. Technically, the Fremont hospital is the closet. But I had two less-than-steller birth experiences there and wouldn't recommend it for anyone - natural minded or otherwise.

Congrats, mama!!! I've been hearing great things about Guiding Hands. Also, The Midwife's Place or LifeCare Family Medicine in Bellevue are worth the drive.
Brandi K. replied:
Dr Finley, at BMC, he is the most hand of until/unless needed Dr iv seen for birthy stuff.

Jendau Stauffer at guiding hands midwifery. She is very naturally minded she's kind she's smart she's very experienced she is delivering now at Bergen I have had many babies delivered there now by her and the parents are very happy with the experience. She is a kind gentle person, and she will follow you through the delivery and attend the delivery herself
Jennifer L. replied:
Dr Lauer Silva at healthcare for women in fremont is VERY natural minded and open to just about any request you'd have.
Elizabeth M. replied:
I live in Fremont also. I've delivered twice with the midwives at Methodist and loved them. I've had good experiences each time. Also, I've heard a lot of good things about Dr Lauer-Silva at the Fremont hospital. She's not currently my doctor, but I know her some through church and can say that she's a really great person. I also have a handful of friends and family who have gone or are going to her and really love having her as their doctor.
Brandie S. replied:
I live around fremont area but drove to Midwife (Heather) in Bellevue. She was great. You can deliver at Bellevue hospital or at the birthing center.
Tara C. replied:
Guiding Hands Midwifery. Jenda is amazing. She used to be a midwife at Methodist.
Taryn B. replied:
I'm in Fremont and just delivered at Bellevue with Dr Wells. She is great! And I loved the hospital. The drive did worry me. It takes about 45 minutes. But it wasn't an issue.
