If any one has suggestions on how to get rid of cluster migraines- I would love to know. It's been about 6 weeks of misery. I've tried massage, chiropractor, yoga, and...

Oh no Chrissy! I'm so sorry that you get these. I watch Gary suffer every year and it's awful. He may forgive me for forcing him to put Capsaicin in his nostril. Seems it really burns...Dr. Oz thought it would help. Lol! We are seriously considering acupuncture... maybe Pittsburgh? I'll be praying for you.

Gary Muhlestein-- After that patient, I sent many patients to the acupuncturist for a variety of conditions...dizziness, pain syndromes, etc and saw some very good results. Like I said, its not for everyone but its worth a try--especially if you've tried everything else!. If you and Chrissy are interested, Ill gladly look into someone in your area and get a recommendation from a close friend and acupuncturist in NYC (they have a country wide network of people). And yes, so everyone knows...I am a huge fan of chiropractors too (there is my plug for the Calains, lol). Some in society view these two practices as...well lets say they have a low opinion of and question its efficacy---Ive seen these practices help too many patients, friends, and family and even myself. Medicine has its place too but don't always be so quick to jump for a pill! Alternative methods in healthcare can provide a life where no pill is needed and even after just a few treatments.

Chrissy Mullenax I have had migraines since age 17 What works for me is Accupuncture, chiropractic, kept a food journal and identified my trigger foods ( red wine, chocolate, caffeine, nitrates in Bologna and hot dogs and lunch meats), drink 64 oz of water with lemon each day, and try to lower my stress level. I've tried every medicine under the sun and all of the holistic methods work better than the meds. The only one I keep on hand is excedrin migraine and I threw the rest away. Peppermint oil also helps along with Vicks vapor rub on my head, a bag of ice on my head and a bag of ice on my throat area.

A lot of people swear by the DoTerra oils, I think that's how you spell it. Ila Kerns sells oils. I bought one off her for my mood and being tired all the time. It has helped! KayLynn was sent to the principal 3 times in a week I put it on her before school, she hasnt been into trouble since!! So it helped her too.

Chrissy just to steer you in a direction of a good doctor. I have had migraines for 17 yrs. I have them under control with very few like 1 every month maybe 2. But I had about 5 a week. Dr Brick at WVU and his PA she is wonderful. I have had massage, chiropractic, acupuncture all they seem to relieve the HA for a little while but they ALWAYS COME BACK... Or never leave completely! So if I help with any more infor I would be glad to. Because I have done Botox injections for them, injections at the base of my skull.. Nothing ever relived them.

Chrissy, I agree that Dr. Brick is good. There is also another good neurologist in Morgantown - has a private practice. Dr. Alvaro Gutierrez - office number is 304-594-3258. Hope you some relief.
