Can anyone recommend a seamstress? I'm the mother of the Bride so I need to make sure she does really great work!

Columbia Bridal on Snowden River Parkway. They are not cheep, but the work is excellent.

Paulette Blanchard Biscotti is excellent!

Isabel Donnelly is OUTSTANDING. I used her for my wedding (after Columbia Bridal almost ruined my dress) and as a wedding photographer, I recommend her to all of my clients - and they have all been beyond thrilled. She is absolutely outstanding. She is located in Ellicott City.

Anyone have recommendations for a good seamstress? I need alterations to a wedding gown.

I just had the best experience for my September wedding. A wonderful lady named Isabel has her own home studio. She's in Elkridge, right off 100. She loves weddings and you can tell! She's a little pricier than other places, but her work is incredible. She even redid my bustle without charging me because she thought it should be a 1/2" lower! I HIGHLY recommend her. http://www.isabeldonnelly.com/

I have had good alterations at the Fashion Cleaners next to Mad River Bar and Grille. I've had them hem stuff, take in pants, and take in a fairly complicated blazer and they do really good work for a pretty reasonable price. I got my alterations for my wedding dress done at Casa Mauricio in Olney, she did a great job but was a bit flaky about meeting times. Columbia Bridal Boutique also does a nice job.

I second Isabel Donnelly! She did my wedding dress too and was awesome.
Recommendations for a good tailor near Clarksville to hem a dress?
Liz P. replied:
Ten Oaks Dry Cleaners by the Ten Oaks Tavern. The guy there is awesome. He just fixed a bridesmaid dress, cleaned it, and steamed it for me for $18, and he hemmed another one for me last year--did a stellar job, and I remember that being inexpensive, as well!
Amy H. replied:
We use Siloam Cleaners at 108 & Ten Oaks road in the same strip mall as Katana. They have done good alterations for us for years.

If this is for your wedding dress or bridesmaid dresses, Yvette is the best. She has been doing specifically weddings for 35 years and is SO reasonably priced and a perfectionist. http://m.yelp.com/biz/yvettes-wedding-gown-pressing-and-alterations-silver-spring

Dear Clarksville Friends--
Looking for a good seamstress or tailor to shorten a dress for a wedding. It is full and a little complicated, so not just a whipstich job....
Anyone have a good recommendation for a good seamstress. I am looking to have a few dresses hemmed. Any local cleaners that do alterations is fine. Thanks
Kim G. replied:
Nick at Kings Contrivance is really good! I am sorry I don't remember the name of the shop, but I'm guessing it's the only tailor shop in that shopping center.

Fulton Dry Cleaners is amazing and very honest. Took a jacket in there for a new zipper - came back to pick it up and the $24.00 I was quoted was only $6.00. They told me it didn't need replacing just fixing.....love them!
I need some tricky alterations on my mother-of-the-bride dress. Anyone know of a seamstress near me?
