Hi there. I'm looking for a new primary care doctor not associated with TVC. Of course, he/she has to be accepting new patients. Any advice?
Cheryl W. replied:
Dr May is a naturopath who is opening his own practice with a different model for health care. He is working along side Dr Rice. Their new practice will be off airport road. The new premise is you pay a monthly fee and see the Dr as often as you need. He is stepping away from insurance models of health care and big business type of health care.
Lisa W. replied:
I agree, Dr. May and Dr. Rice are the way to go. Dr. Rice is an MD and Dr. May is an ND. Perfect combination. Their new practice will probably be open June 5 th and is in the Alaska USA building on Airport.
Joanna S. replied:
Joan Thomas is my PCP. She's a good general practice doc with Fairbanks clinic. She'll send you elsewhere if it's beyond her scope
Gloria H. replied:

Steve F. replied:

Frank T. replied:
Dr Zetterman is a good dr at TVC. He is very reasonable at looking at causes and seeing what may be the underlying problem.
Nancy F. replied:
Susan Godwin is a naturopath. I found her very good!
Lidiia O. replied:
Dr. Amy At Fairbanks Family Wellness is amazing. Naturopathic and Homeopathic doctor.
Rebecca F. replied:
I told my Dr. Several years ago that I felt something on my brain like a infection was pushing on it. Last week I went to Eye Clinic of Fairbanks and he saw a abnormality in my optic nerve. He did 7 tests in the office, then sent me to the ER for a emergency MRI and blood work.. They found a cyst on my brain, caused mist likely from a infection. I made my own appointment with ear nose and throat dr Raugast and had nasal surgery. This long infection from my sinuses could have caused my cyst. That could have killed me. We need DR's
Missi Z. replied:
Bethany Chernich at TVC.
Jennifer M. replied:
There are several great doctors at the Alaska Center for Natural Medicine. I personally recommend Dr. May.:) A naturopathic doctor does just what you described: they spend a long time with each patient and really look for the root cause.
Jaye P. replied:
I wish Medicaid would pay for the homeopathic doctors, I see Dr. Accola at TVC and I really like him but I don't think he's taking anyone new, I've heard good things about Dr. Rice at TVC as well
Hey some quick advice: who's you're favorite general practitioner at the Fairbanks Clinic? Pediatrician? Our family insurance is Aetna, and it looks like every provider...
Justin S. replied:
Pediatrician at Fairbanks Clinic-Dr. Archer, (my girls used to see her when I wasn't limited to TriCare, and my wife wants to work for her as a Physician Assistant), Family Practice it's either the Thomas's or the ANP.
Michelle P. replied:
TVC-Dr Bergeson
Alyssa H. replied:
We switched from Dr. Archer to TVC. Love Dr. Bergeson & Dr. Clift
Stephanie U. replied:
TVC isn't in my network, for starters. And while I know Banner Health isn't necessarily in charge of the business aspect of the practice, I really dislike TVC in general. I always have bad experiences there.
I know this has been asked here before but does anyone have a recommendation for a general practitioner that accepts Medicaid that is NOT Interior Community Health...
Daniel F. replied:
That is incredibly hard to do. Most aren’t accepting new patients. Fairbanks Clinic does, but last I heard they weren’t taking anyone new. It was a few years ago though.
Justin S. replied:
A few clinics like Mayers may. My wife had a hard time finding anyone outside of TVC to do her Family Practice Rotation because Foundation Health is buying up so many small clinics. Midnight Sun Family Medicine may take Medicade
