If you are going to live in Fairbanks, I recommend buying in Fairbanks. Makes the relationship with the service department better. Oh, and definitely go to Seekins Ford Lincoln and ask for me.

It be worth the hassle to buy in the states and have it shipped up. I'd take the time to research it a bit. Kendall Auto is the name of the Subaru/Toyota dealership in Fairbanks and Anchorage. Check their prices compared to the places close to you. Best of luck!

I would go to Dave Smith auto in Idaho and buy a truck with four wheel drive before you come up. Everything in Fairbanks at dealers is marked up a lot. Having a truck is nice for Alaska. You have lots of options with a truck, like helping someone out of a ditch, hauling stuff like your own water if you get a place out of town that doesn't have a well, put a camper on it, if the snow is deep you probably can still get to work whereas a Subaru you can't to low to the ground. A truck will give you more options.
