My neighbors resided their house last summer (I know because I was working overnights and my bedtime was then they started hammering outside my window.... also the house looked fucking different and im not an idiot)... not sure who they used but they seem to be happy, also I think theirs is aluminium... not sure tho. If you're curious I can ask them.

http://www.sidelineconstruction.com/ Sideline Construction does siding. I have only had them done windows, but Tom Smith is a honest guy and his workers do a great job. Also, he doesn't advertise, so he can keep his costs down.

You should contact an engineering firm not a hammer jockey. The potential for catastrophic results should be all the convincing you need. Your homeowners policy won't cover house collapse if they fuck up.

For anything structural I wouldn’t use a jack of all trades contractor. Get one that specializes in those things. I’m pretty sure never wet does that stuff and I hear great things about them. Jacking up a support is gonna cost a pretty penny.

From experience: Get someone who specializes in it. We hired a contractor for a bunch of things in our home and he screwed up multiple projects and took forever. Any specialists we've used since then, particularly if they were a bigger company, have been superior and fixed any issues without question.

Call Warren Engineering to get an inspection, they are structural engineers that have the expertise and certifications to tell you what needs to be done. Afterwards, they can either recommend a contractor, or I've had really good experience with Rochester Custom Exteriors. I think you need experienced eyes to see whats going on before bidding out the job and get a dozen different opinions from a dozen different contractors.
Anyone know a good contractor in rochester area??? For an addition ???

Oasis Construction. The owner is John Spock. He just did the renovation on my new store. I believe he has a facebook page. Really nice and fair pricing. Plus, he was referred to me by a homebuilder so that made me feel better too.
