I would have as many facts about your medical history and your family's medical history to share. You might want t scan some of the medical literature for information and look for articles that describe symptoms that are similar to yours. I would ask "What are the worst things it might be?" and "How can we rule out those things?" Here are a few links. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/salivaryglanddisorders.htmlhttp://vsearch.nlm.nih.gov/vivisimo/cgi-bin/query-meta?v%3Aproject=medlineplus&query=parotid+gland+disorders and if you want to scan some article abstracts, these might help http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=%28%22Salivary+Glands%22%5BMesh%5D+OR+%22 salivary+glands%22%29+AND+parotid+AND+%28 disorder+OR+disease%29+AND++%28 swollen+OR+swelling+OR+edema%29 Good luck. If you identify any articles that seem like what you have, I will help you find more.

We love Dr. Buccino never had an issue with waiting and I'd rather wait for a kind gentle knowledable dentist than a hack job place like kool smiles known as the equivalent of fast food dentistry. I've had to wait once come to think of it but we Did not mind as we saw why, he was taking care of a child that needed to be treated first and he did it with care and compassion we did not mind waiting because I hope for the same respect if it were my child so we did not mind at all. He is an excellent pediatric dentist and worth the wait on the off days that you may actually have to wait a bit. He's worth keeping.
