Ann Arbor spine center dr brodkey or one of the others excellent for spine/back surgery 734-434-4110 neurologists don't typically do surgery or treat the back specifically. steve hardwood is very good physical medicine dr. treats pain/chronic pain734-712-0050
Kathryn T. replied:
If you're looking for a neurosurgeon Dr. Thomas out of St. Joe's Ann Arbor is good. I think he is partners with Dr. Brodkey above.
Denise D. replied:
Every case is different. My experience with Michigan Spine and Brain Institute was great. Dr. Bono (partner of Dr. Soo) took me from barely walking with the help of a cane, to walking unassisted, and people noticing that I stand up straighter than before. He won't do surgery until YOU are ready. Yes you will need a Neurosurgeon.

MIND, in Farmington Hills is awesome, I also have an amazing pain mgmt dr in bingham farms, that works with a lot of back pain issues, including blocks and PT. MIND also has satellite offices for certain doctors, including an office at Garden City Hospital.

I would go to Henry Ford. Dr. Patel operated on my best friend, she was a mess afterwards and died a year later from all the pain med she was on
Deborah R. replied:
I go to Michigan neuroscience, Dr. murshed neurologist, Dr Junn surgeon. I like Murshed but not Junn. They work out of Oakwood. The number is 734-374-1112 for Murshed. I don't think back pain ever really gets better. I also go to pain management. I had a neurosurgeon tell me to go to U of M in Ann Arbor not to let Dr. around here operate on my back. He told me he did back surgery but when back has so many issues he would not touch it.
Frank M. replied:
Dr. Teck Soo is Neurosurgeon and a very good one. He is however, not a clinical Neurologist. That is a different thing altogether. I have a Neurologist in the family so I am biased. But if you need a good Neurologist ask Dr. Soo for a recommendation.
Anne S. replied:
If you are looking for someone for back surgery Michigan Spine Clinic Dr. Nilesh Patel works out of Oakwood Hospital 313-277-6700. Check his ratings.
