We have a mama who is pregnant and does have insurance, but makes too much to get Medicaid. She is looking for midwife OR natural birth friendly OB suggestions.

I had an amazing experience with Dr Samples at Clinic for Women. I did have a doula with me during labor and delivery as well. Highly suggest hiring a doula no matter how natural friendly your dr may be since there's no guarantee that specific dr will be at the birth. Good luck!!!

Dr. Conrad. I think his normal charge is 3200.

Dr. Aguayo was amazing. Very open to any birth choices you make.

Midwives aren't illegal. Certified Professional Midwives aren't licensed in this state, and so yes, their practice is illegal. Unfortunately. However Certified Nurse Midwives are licensed, and can legally practice, though not outside of the hospital. However, they are few and far between, for a myriad of very frustrating reasons. Sorry, but as a student nurse midwife, I feel like I needed to make that clarification, since there is so much misinformation out there. Very best of luck to this family

If she doesn't have insurance and will have to pay out of pocket, a Certified Professional Midwife is the absolute best value for her money. It's totally worth a short drive for this type of care.
