Depending on what you need the will for, you might consider going with a CFP. My husband, Andy Whitaker, can help you. He's with Gold Tree Financial in Jacksonville.:-)

The Clerk's office can give you a packet to get started. It costs $28. The big one is the fee to file the petition - it's $408. The Sheriff will also charge a fee to serve the petition. A class is also required if minor children are involved. Your biggest expense is going to be agreeing on a settlement. If you have attorneys and an arbitrator there it runs hundreds of dollars per hour. If you can sit down with your spouse and write out an agreement defining how your assets will be divided, the custody schedule for each child, and any financial support then you will save a ton of money. You will likely want to retain an attorney to review any forms you fill out before filing them and review the Settlement Agreement to ensure it's both legal and fair. Lexie Alvarez is great. Especially if the child custody is expected to be complicated.
