I have a friend that has been using https://aereo.com/ for his local TV and then using Netflix and ITunes to supplement. You would still need Internet service, but for $12 a month, it might be worth looking into.

Just made the switch last month! Verizon customer service is beyond horrible!!! They ticked me off so badly, I would not keep them for anything! I got a FANTASTIC deal on DirecTV at Sam's (better than Costco). LOVING it! They paid for all 3 boxes (so no rental fees) AND we got at $200 Sam's card - plus all the channels and cost is way cheaper than I was paying at Verizon. The set up was easy and it's awesome! We went with Time Warner for Internet - no issues there either. Both of my boys "game" and we have had no issues (I did go buy a higher end router so I didn't have to pay rental fees for theirs). Plus - they don't use contracts so I am not locked in! GOOD LUCK! If you do decide to switch - go to Sam's (and I am a huge Costco girl!).
Kendra W. replied:
Mandy, I partner with several of the options. Time Warner, Hughes, AT&T, Direct and Dish. Most at lower prices than directly with the companies. go to: www.switchandsavenow.acndirect.com The customer acquestion costs are lower, so they pass on the savings. Plus, they feed a hungry child every month you pay your bill (through a nonprofit: play for food) or call 214-695-2992
Kathy O. replied:
We are in the same position. Wish we had ATT Universe in our area.
Amanda M. replied:
I had forgotten that I use Apple TV in conjunction with TiVo. I can also buy current HBO shows from apple... They run from $10 per season, to $44 per season, depending on popularity. Still, well worth it. And as Sarah said, they can be bought per episode, also.
Doug G. replied:
Pay TV, Internet and wireless service providers aren’t exactly America’s most beloved business categories. In fact, customers seem to love complaining about them constantly. Part of the reason people dislike ISPs so much may be the difficulties they often experience when dealing with their customer care departments, and now AT&T and Time Warner Cable have been ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in a questionnaire asking subscribers which companies have the worst customer service in the country. The unscientific questionnaire, conducted on Ranker and unearthed by DSLReports.com, lists 50 large U.S. companies and asks visitors to vote on which among them have the worst customer service. At the top of the list with 483 votes at the time of this writing is AT&T, which is followed by Time Warner Cable with 317 votes in the No. 2 spot. Interestingly, AT&T was just ranked highest in J.D. Power’s wireless purchase satisfaction survey for the second consecutive time, and it was also awarded the top honor in the firm’s 2013 customer service study. Dawn B. replied:
We have Vios for computer and phone, but we have had Direct TV for TV (hubby will not give up his football pkg!) 15+ years and have never had a customer service problem. They are expensive but have moved with us across various states with no problems. Only problem is lack of service during bad wind storms, though usually briefly. Anytime we need them they come out out or answer questions on the phone. Some of our needs can also be handled via their website or through texting.
Looking for recommendations for someone that can draw up a Medical Power of Attorney and Last Will and Testament that is reasonably priced.
Thanks in advance!
