I Want to try rabbit. Does anyone know a restaurant in Brisbane that serves rabbit? Interested in rabbit taste, I don't mind what type of cuisine. Thanks.

If you find somewhere, you totally need to complain to the waiter that there's a hare in your food

Not anything that comes to mind right now. Try a decent French/Italian restaurant. I've had rabbit tagliatelle somewhere before and other rabbit dishes in Bris. Will see what I can find for you and link back later. You may have more luck in a month as restaurants roll out winter menus too. EDIT - Baccus ( http://www.bacchussouthbank.com.au/MENU.html) under "grill". Blackbird Restaurant under "hot entree" http://www.blackbirdbrisbane.com.au/restaurant/

http://www.urbanspoon.com/m/r/337/1360216 I've had rabbit here once. It was a few years ago and I remember that you had to call ahead a day in advance so they could start cooking it (I cant remember how it was cooked).
xbattlestation replied:
I've had it before, it isn't very exciting at all, not something I'd put on a list to try personally. Maybe the chef who did mine wasn't very good though?
pastryboy replied:
I've had Rabbit at [Popolo](http://www.popolodining.com/) in South Bank before. I was there for Mother's Day last week and it wasn't on the menu anymore though. Maybe send them an email/call and see if it's a seasonal dish? Edit: Sentence structure.

I couldn't find it on their menu, but these guys http://www.tukkarestaurant.com.au/ serve stuff like kangaroo, emu and crocodile. Perhaps give them a call and ask if they do rabbit too

Casual Japanese Restaurants? Hey all, does anyone know of any "hidden gem" casual Japanese restaurants? My girlfriend and I used to love going to Sasuke at Mermaid (next...

There’s Izakaya Midori in Reedy Creek.

GOTO Southport, Champion noodles are like healthy ramen (ask for it not too hot temp wise). The rest of their menu is on point. Best on the coast that I've seen. Maruya isn't bad either. The owner has as much personality as a discarded udon noodle. But the collection of posters and toys and to be honest good food makes it worth it. Muso ramen is good. I hate to say it but ramen danbo is good, still shut down in Southport and I haven't tried their other restaurants. SHINOBI Yakitori in surfers is an experience. Worth a visit.

Cha chas in Broadbeach. Another good Japanese place in Oxenford.

Top Noodle in Coolangatta is amazing. Great Japanese food by Japanese chefs and it is very very reasonably priced.

JFX in Southport are amazing, and Koharu in Runaway Bay is equally as good.

Not sure if it counts as casual enough for what you’re after, but I love the food at Saiko Teppanyaki in The Kitchens at Robina Town Centre.

Karachi-ya across the road from harbour town is awesome. As it Oi Izakaya, in a lane way off James street at Burleigh heads.

And I will be saving this thread because after living 8 years in Japan I crave a bit of washoku and I wonder if there is true one around Brissie! thanks.

Izakaya Ichi in Southport is my go to for decent casual Japanese food, open until midnight every day! Great for a late night feed that isn't fast food.

I couldn't recommend Satoru's more, really fantastic if you're nearish to the coomera/helensvale area, really good quality for an affortable price. The interior design is to be desired, but the chef is always Satoru and he always makes good meals.
