If it just needs a new heating element, you might be able to replace that yourself. Unplug the dryer, take off the back cover, disconnect the heating element. You can order a new one online or go to Cashwell Appliance Parts Inc in Garner, NC to get a new one. I have rep'd one on my 20 year old Kenmore dryer & one on my son's dryer. Both are still working good. It's not that hard to replace it. This will save labor cost, plus the mark-up on the part by the repair person. Let me know if you need any help.

Russell, I think he's talking about Ronald Stanley.

Time Life Appliance repair book...or any how to book usually covers most repairs. Dryers are often easy to repair and inexpensive.
