Anyone know of a good hand orthopedist between Lex and Lou? (I live in Frankfort)
I injured my hand while playing tennis back in January, and thought it was little more...

Bill (William) O'Neill at Bluegrass Orthopedics is the very best. He's well-trained, very competent, and a really nice guy. He has operated on my hands twice and they were both very successful. One of them, for an arthritic thumb joint, can sometimes have less than optimal results; mine is perfect.

If you need hand surgery, Dr. Richard Debou is the best in Kentucky. http://www.louisvilleplastics.com/aboutDrDubou.html

Thanks for the info, Ruth and Richard! FWIW, I saw Dr Soucy (Rebound Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Frankfort, KY) a couple of weeks ago. He gently bent my hand backward and held it in an awkward, but not painful position (I think it was a variant of Phalen's Test (youtube.com/watch?v=IEvY6PcEcIY)), which was negative, and the in-office x-rays were negative, and, a week later, the MRI was negative (he advised against the MRI as being a waste of money, but, I felt I had to be sure, especially since the x-ray was negative; even after $500 (self-pay) for it, I'm glad I had it done). Soucy said that it was probably just a severe muscle spasm. His office gave me a CD of the x-ray & MRI images, and, when I viewed them on my home computer, even a layman could see that everything's normal. So, basically, there is nothing wrong with my hand! He said I should keep the flexible wrist brace on, even when I go to bed, and try not to use my hand. It seems to be improving (it probably would have healed, already, if I didn't type such massive missives!), but it really bugs me not knowing what's going on.
What doctor's office is too busy two days in a row to take sick patients? Oldham County Pediatrics that's who. This is bullshit.
