A lot of old parquet floors in long Beach apartments are glued down. The glue definitely silences the natural wood sounds. I used to replace the wood tiles by cutting off the tongue and gluing them in place. I used to do it for my old boss. I believe we used to get the tiles for those apartments and glue from Packard Flooring in Farmingdale.
