This site has been so helpful to me, especially in motivating me to begin planning our upcoming Bar Mitzvah. Guess now I am ready to search for a DJ. Since we have not...

Www.goodvibrations.org - ask for Vinny. They do DJ, photog and video. discount if you book more than one service. They are awesome and affordable!
Roberta B. replied:
I highly recommend Brian & Geoff with Electric Entertainment. We used them last year. They get the crowd going & they keep it going. We're still getting compliments from our guests.

I will second Rani's recommendation of Vinny at goodvibrations.org

Hi Allison Needleman Stein - take a look at my blog FAVORITE THINGS - www.partyfavoritesblog.com. It features information about and guest posts by several area vendors including Electric Entertainment. FAVORITE THINGS is full of ideas and inspiration for mitzvah celebrations.

There is lots I can say about hiring a DJ but it might be better if the DJs themselves respond here in addition to referrals from friends that have actually used their services. I can certainly give you my opinion if you call me personally. I often wo rk with the best DJs in the area – some of them have been active on this board - there are many other great mitzvah DJs in this town and unfortunately, likewise, there are a few bad ones too. It is important to match the DJ/MC with what you are trying to achieve. E.g. if your kid is “Mr/Miss Saturday night” then be sure your DJ can produce that kind of performance. Similarly, it would be a bad match if your DJ is over the top but your kid prefers to be out of the limelight and doesn’t want to dance or play games. Once you receive a referral, be sure to find out more information from other sources. One way is to go on-line and see what reviews exist about them. Popular places for reviews are WeddingWire.com and Yelp.com Just enter their name in the search field and you should see what is written, hopefully it is all good.

DJ/MC Chuck Money from Washington Talent FAR exceeded any and all of our expectations, for an incredible value. He and his team took every opportunity to entertain us in the exact ways that our daughter wanted - they took her every wish into consideration, and ours too. Good luck!!!
