Travel Agents do all the work, and it costs absolutely nothing extra (at least for me, I don't charge any fees). Sometimes if you are including air there are other tour operators that offer a contracted rate that may be lower than what Disney can get and that ultimately lowers your total price. If booking direct with Disney, you would want to monitor the prices to see if a promotion comes out for your dates of travel, as a travel agent, I do that for you, sometimes a free meal plan is released for dates my clients are traveling, or a discount on a room or package, and I keep track of that and call to have the promotion applied to the booking if it's available. With Disney you could call or book yourself, and you would get the same pricing, but if you book with an agent, you have a local contact. If you book on your own, every time you call, or one of your family members calls to book, or ask a question you will get a different Disney agent, wouldn't it be nice to have 1 person that you all talk to, or email, 1 point of contact to make sure all the work is getting done? I get paid from the tour operators/vacation companies that I work with, it doesn't add anything to your cost. Plus, in most cases, you are helping support local small businesses when you work with an agent!
