Heidi Kozaritz Mocchi. My parents had a couch reupholstered at Isaacs in Geneva and were really happy. Not sure about the springs and what not. But it did cost about the same as a new couch. Ps. Walter E smith had a couple deep seat couches I saw there and they are having a big floor sample sale
If the piece of furniture is sentimental and has good structure, consider reupholstering. The cheaper furniture that is sold today is very cheap and the manufacturers cut corners to save a buck. Fixing the springs is a fairly simple fix. Most reupholsters replace the foam in the piece and in the cushions. We're getting ready to have a chair reupholstered that is 50 years old. Great structure but the fabric is worn out. This will be the third time it has been reupholstered. We used VALLEY UPHOLSTERY AND DESIGN, BATAVIA for a cheaper sofa piece that had a piece of it's structure break. The owner has a lot of experience and reasonable and fair prices. He came very well recommended from several people. A note about fabric selection: You can usually get a good price at a fabric store when on sale vs. buying fabric from the upholsterer. When we reupholstered our chair, we lived near some fabric warehouses and bought a high quality fabric at a bargain price. The fabric has been on the chair for 20 years and started showing excessive wear in the last few years.
