Dr. Philip Perkins (psychiatrist) used to be right across from T.C.C. but I think he is in University Place somewhere else now. Google him. He can prescribe meds and a great person to talk to!

My husband went to an incredible woman named Michelle. Here is her web address. She takes insurance. https://www.drmichellegiresi.com/ Good luck. My husband is doing much better because of her. It does get better.

Integrated therapy in UP was really good to me. I had two female therapists there and both were incredibly kind and easy to talk to. I can't recommend them because neither works there now as they were going through their last year of school and moving on to graduate. The secretary that answers the phone is female and super kind. She'll have you answer a few questions and match you with a therapist in a few weeks. I hope one of the many suggestions you have in this thread will help you. Good luck friend.

I go to Olympic Psychology Services downtown, my therapist and many of her coworkers are all female. With my insurance it's about $40 a session. Best of luck, OP. Rooting for you.

Talk to someone tonight. If it's in the ER or a hotline, doesn't matter. There are people available because you're worth being available for. Whatever is going on in life isn't what makes life it's just shit that happens. It's temporary and it gets better. It'll always get better. PM me if you need to. I'll be up a little longer.

Rainier Behavioral Health on Orchard is great. I’ve been going for over a year. They have quite a few great professionals.

Kaiser Permanente had me see a social worker rather than a therapist. It wasn't as comfortable as prior therapist offices have been but it was cheaper and they could see me after 5 pm

Along if the therapist ideas you're getting, if you ever just want to grab a beer and talk about life...lemme know.

I'd recommend checking out Rainier Associates on Orchard if you get the chance, they seem to be affordable and I've heard good things. I hope you're able to find the help you need

You can go to Allenmore ER. They will take you in and talk to you. My friend went there and got help. She got finical help to see a psychiatrist. I want you to know that you are worthwhile and you matter. You can get through this.

If you're posting this because you're moments or hours or even days away from a worst case scenario, you need to call a hotline or find services that can help you immediately before it's too late. You can't sleep this off or make an appointment to fix it another week.
If you're posting this because life has just generally turned sour or you're afraid you could soon get stuck on a terrible path away from mental/emotional stability, you should use some of the more comprehensive resources like psychology, psychiatry or therapy. This will take longer for a few reasons, but you can take the time and effort to get help with your specific issue the way you'd prefer.
Both of these options' resources are pretty well listed by others in this thread, and I hope you can find them to be as helpful as you and everyone in a similar situation deserves. Please update this post to tell us what help you end up choosing to seek.

Have you looked into Ginger IO? It is a virtual/telehealth service so you can get therapy at home. My insurance (Kaiser Permanente) covers it 100%. Please reach out to your insurance company and ask for help.

What insurance do you have? Try the MDLIVE app they take insurance. Also Mindful Therapy group out of Seattle offers telehealth as well. I see my therapist once a week.

Allenmore. I work at a non profit that helps with resources for various problems including mental illness and PTSD. We refer to Allenmore all the time.

Dr. Nancy Mullan treats people based on their genetics. She's in CA and she's a psychiatrist.

Kathleen, thank you so much for this reference. While I was looking for counseling, Dr. Mullah looks like an excellent doc for treating my SNPs with supplements, and she's about 1.5 hours from me. Much appreciation.

Pani V. replied:
Christina, your team situation sounds like my dream come true. I will google integrative mental health. And thank you for the referral to Dr Parker, Angela. I am working on repairing my brain and gut, although finding the help on that front has been very discouraging, too, having lost several thousand dollars on two functional med docs. I was a psychotherapist before illness ended my career. I just need to talk with someone to help me sort through the rubble of damaged relationships after 27 years of chronic illness. I need a therapist who understands the genetic component to my depression and won't run me through standard cognitive restructuring or psychodynamic work. Done my family of origin work ad nauseam. Didn't mean to imply I want a therapist who is also a biochemist or nutritionist. Interesting responses. Thank you all!
