Cheri H. replied:
Join fibromyalgia disability group on Facebook. Wonderful group gives lots of great tips. The fact that you have a failed work attempt is good. Get residual functional capacity forms filled out by all specialist. If you have depression anxiety get to a psychiatrist and get treatment. Looks better. Get a local lawyer

Binder and Binder are national know SSI attorny's http://www.binderandbinder.com/Free-Social-Security-Disability-Evaluation.shtml
Barb K. replied:
SSI can only be paid once SSD has been approved. Once SSD has been approved, there's a 5 month wait before payments begin. During that 5 month wait is when SSI will kick in. I filed my SSD appeal 10 months ago. Lawyer advised me to apply gor SSI now to have on file so IF SSD appeal approved, SSI will just kick right in. My SSD lawyer is Balin & Associates in Ohio & Florida. Not sure if they practice anywhere else. Good luck to you.

Does anybody here take magnesium supplements to help with their fibro? I had a family member suggest trying it and she gave me some supplements, but I just wanted to ask...
Dear F. replied:
Hi, Abby! Magnesium is a super important and beneficial mineral to take when you have FM. The only time you should consult a physician about taking it is if you have diabetes. Here's a very good (but long) report about FM & magnesium. If you don't want to read the whole thing, rest assured that taking magnesium will definitely help your overall muscle health. I take 800 mgs. every night. You may want to start at 500 mgs. as it has a tendency to cause loose stools if your dose is too high. What your body doesn't use it expels through urination. Healing hugs ~ Beth <3 http://web.mit.edu/london/www/magnesium.html

I see Arizona Rheumatology and Arthritis (Dr. Solomon and Kate, his PA) at their west side location and love them. I normally see Kate, but if something comes up Dr Solomon comes in, so definitely complete care in the office. I have a laundry list of drug reactions, and polyarthritis (along with my fibro), and they have really helped figuring out options.

Pamela B. replied:
It's like we're really on our own. Most are quick to throw you pills. I was referred to a Kidney Specialist by my Nurse Practitioner and this woman was so very thorough I asked her then and there could she be my Primary Care, she's very understanding, she knows my pain because she's has Osteoarthritis. I'm grateful to have been sent to her. I also have severe irreversible Carpal Tunnel, from work injuries, IBS, Plantar Fasciitis, IBS, was just diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hands on top of the carpal tunnel and fibromyalgia. The everyday pain we suffer is insane, and no one listens really, especially the medical community and the SSDI Judges. I wish you good luck

Gabby M. replied:
Dr Lai! At the York medical health centre in Newmarket! I have been seeing him since being diagnosied and by far the best thing that has happened to me physically in years. He works with you. Believes what you say. And helps! He has also told me that there is a therapist in the building there that meets with people with chronic pain, and specializes in it, (the waiting list is long and I haven't met them yet). Physio is in the building, everything there is wonderful, and so are all of the people there, doctors, nurses, and the physiotherapists. It can take time to be in there, but it is worth the wait.
