Hi! I actually moved here from OH as well! Welcome! I highly recommend Dr. Richard Martzke DDS. He is an excellent dentist who makes everyone feel at home and always has his patients' best interest in mind! Www.richardmartzkedds.com
Denise W. replied:
Dr. Stevenson is great for dentist. We go to sparrow medical group west and see Dr. Lutz. She is a DO, but all of the Dr.'s there are and all are awesome. She is good about prescribing medicine when needed but also letting colds take their course and clear up without antibiotics. That way my kids can go to the same dr. my husbanf and I go to also.
Cassie H. replied:
We go to sparrow east side and love Dr Morse! He’s amazing with my kids and also amazing with us too. He doesn’t jump to prescribe medications but would rather use natural things and vitamins if possible rather then prescriptions. There’s 4 drs in there office but dr Morse is ours and my favorite. We just had our first dentist visit today with Norris Sonja and they did so good with my two year old!
Nelva S. replied:
Dr. Peter Miller with Family Medicine of Michigan. I think he would be a good fit for your family.
Hanna P. replied:
Welcome to the area. Best cup of coffee for us is at Strange Matter in Lansing. $2 movie theater at the Sun Theater on Bridge Street. Great family activity. Great trails to walk with the family. You can start at the island and go off in several different directions, through the ledges along the river. They are a beautiful and unique geographical feature in Grand Ledge. Our favorite park in Grand Ledge is Fitzgerald Park, but we hear Lincoln Brick Park is nice too. There is a nice park with a playground at the boat launch, and free music once a week in the summer. The city is supposedly building a splash pad there as well. Our favorite local places to eat are Crossroads Barbecue, Cuginos (for great Italian, especially calzones), and Panchos Taco Truck on M43. Hope you love it here!

I would like to recommend Dr. Patrick Schaefer D.D.S of Schaefer Dental Group for your consideration. They are located in Delta Twp, so not too far from GL. I do not have young children, but would suggest you also join the Facebook page Not Your Mother's Networking Group and search their site on these topics. This "hive" of women have tremendous ideas and suggestions for almost anything in our greater Lansing area. Good luck and welcome to Comet Country!

Outside of the major grocery stores, is there a butcher shop in town you like the best?
Amy D. replied:
I like Gormans on Gr. River. I have heard good things about Wacousta General store but have not tried them.
Carmen K. replied:
Wacousta General is the only place I buy bacon, german sausage, and burger. Their ground chuck is like ground sirloin at Meijer. Lots of flavor, very little fat, and a decent price. Their brats are wonderful, as is their jerky and snack sticks.
Ann M. replied:
You can get bundles at Wacousta General too. Usually a good deal.
