We go to a family practice, but they are amazing with my son. He's 2 years old & has been going there since birth. Sparrow Medical Group West near Canal. I switched my oldest to them also from Capital Area Pediatrics. They gave me the run around & misdiagnosed him twice!
Angelica G. replied:
Looks like eczema... my daughter had it like that on her cheek and under her toes. Dr Israel at Lansing peds have her an steroid ointment which I applied minimally when she slept and I used acquaphor too. She eventually grew out of it
Angie R. replied:
You may want to consider seeing an allergist if her face doesn't clear up. My son was diagnosed with milk, egg and peanut allergies as an infant and eczema is common with food allergies...his face looked just like your daughters! I loved Westside pediatrics and they are who referred us to an allergist at 6 months old. Best of luck to you and your beautiful baby girl!

Bobbie P. replied:
Dr.Mattarella at MSU peds! She's awesome:)
Leanna M. replied:
I honestly had a hard time finding a pediatrician. I drive my kids all the way to okemos. To New Horizon Pediatrics. The doctor Pratima is so thorough! With both my children. Checks them over head to toe. And since they been infants I've never seen a doc check them over like that took the time to address every issue and I did not feel rushed at all! We were there for a well child for three hours discussing every little issue from rashes to behavior. And referals.
Nikki V. replied:
Dr. Messenger Dermatology on Lake Lansing Rd has a pediatric unit. You may want to take her to a dermatologist for her face rather then the regular Dr. I have found they are much more knowledgeable about proper treatment for skin issues.
Carly M. replied:
Dr.Boote westside MSU peds! Best luck to you and the little one

Aveeno shampoo and lotion. My older son had that same. They said eczema, but the creams for it did not help him. Until i took him to dermatologist /DR. Messenger and she said i sould use Aveeno products and put baby oil into the bath water.. It helped.. Plus the cream i got him for dry skin also helped alot.. CeraVe. Walmart has it.. It was not the formula or any detergent. It was his skin. Too fragil and as soon as he touched his cheeks it came back.

My son had RSV when he was very little he was hospitalized for a couple of weeks at Sparrow he also had really bad eczema on his hands and his cheeks period I had it taped mittens on his hands because he would sue them so bad from teething and the itch. Denise W. replied:
Dr. Stevenson is great for dentist. We go to sparrow medical group west and see Dr. Lutz. She is a DO, but all of the Dr.'s there are and all are awesome. She is good about prescribing medicine when needed but also letting colds take their course and clear up without antibiotics. That way my kids can go to the same dr. my husbanf and I go to also.
Cassie H. replied:
We go to sparrow east side and love Dr Morse! He’s amazing with my kids and also amazing with us too. He doesn’t jump to prescribe medications but would rather use natural things and vitamins if possible rather then prescriptions. There’s 4 drs in there office but dr Morse is ours and my favorite. We just had our first dentist visit today with Norris Sonja and they did so good with my two year old!
Nelva S. replied:
Dr. Peter Miller with Family Medicine of Michigan. I think he would be a good fit for your family.
Hanna P. replied:
Welcome to the area. Best cup of coffee for us is at Strange Matter in Lansing. $2 movie theater at the Sun Theater on Bridge Street. Great family activity. Great trails to walk with the family. You can start at the island and go off in several different directions, through the ledges along the river. They are a beautiful and unique geographical feature in Grand Ledge. Our favorite park in Grand Ledge is Fitzgerald Park, but we hear Lincoln Brick Park is nice too. There is a nice park with a playground at the boat launch, and free music once a week in the summer. The city is supposedly building a splash pad there as well. Our favorite local places to eat are Crossroads Barbecue, Cuginos (for great Italian, especially calzones), and Panchos Taco Truck on M43. Hope you love it here!

We then started with Meridian Pediatrics and it is there that we started to see Dr. Eleanor Watson and this is all through McLaren. She is just east of the corner of Jolly and Okemos roads. She most times takes new patients. We liked her as well as the kids, who are now too old as late teens to see her but we would take little kids to see her, if we had them.

Mary F. replied:
Dr. Nancy Spates is TERRIFIC (Lake Lansing Rd) and does not push vaccines down your throat. She has allowed me to actually read the research on each shot and decide our own timeline and even ordered the specific brand with the least amount of scary ingredients. She works WITH the parent, not against you.
Melissa B. replied:
Dr. Josh Takagishi from Lansing Pediatrics on Lake Lansing. I love him!!!!!! I don't know if they take patients other than newborns though.
