Our teenage child identifies as transgender and we go to Angi Seagraves in Arlington. I've got limited experience but we went to the wrong counselor for several years and Angi has been really great.

Joe Remsik holds appointments at his home/office in Arlington. He seemed like an alright guy. I can't speak from an LGBT perspective, but he mentions it as one of his areas of focus: http://www.targetedsolutionscounseling.com

I went to UT Arlington a few years ago and there was a Lesbian/gay population there . The campus is pretty diverse so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s student groups devoted to that population. I’d check there. As far as Arlington in of itself I moved from Southern California and it’s definitely not as “bad” as I thought It was going to be but it’s a predominately conservative city. The general gist is live and let live. But I’m a straight black male so your experience may vary. Dallas is 20-30 min away $40-$50 Uber ride, if you have the ability to, there’s a strong lgbt presence there so that’s an option as well. Best of luck!
